INCLUDES ALL VIETNAMESE BLANK VERSE-IN_TRANSLATION SUBMITTED TO THE CURRENT ISSUE Volume 11 Number 1 Jan. 2009, and
will be constantly updated between issues whenever a new submission is
accepted for publication. Updates will be closed three months after the
publication of this issue. Poems received after that closing date and time
for updates will not be considered for publication. Interested readers be
sure to check back often for new poems. Submissions must be
accompanied by an original version of the poem(s). All submissions must
include a declaration guaranteeing that the poem submitted is not a
simultaneous submission, and that the author grants The Writers Post First
Serial Rights to publish and the Electronic Rights to archive the original /
translation version in The Writers Post. The translator should include the
following simple contract that says, “Dear editor, please consider my translation [title of translation]
for publication. My name ___________. I confirm that the translation
is submitted solely to The Writers Post, that it is an authorized translation
and unpublished work, and that I am the sole and original translator of it. I
hereby grant The Writers Post First Serial Rights for publication in a future
issue, and the electronic rights to archive and make it available for The
Writers Post readers. I also grant The Writers Post anthology rights to reprint
the poem in the future dead-tree version of poetry published in the Writers
Post entitled “The Writers Post POETRY Series”, which will be sent out as
complimentary copies for poetry promotion purpose.” Translators should bear in mind that the translation they submit
is considered their final version. No change or alteration shall be made

TRANSLATOR Phan
Tan Hai, poet, writer and translator, born in 1952 in
Saigon. His father’s hometown is Ha Tinh; his mother’s Nha Trang. He is the
author of “Cau be va Hoa Mai” (Nhan Van, 1986), “Mot noi goi la Viet Nam”
(poetry, 1987), “Vai chu giai ve thien don ngo” (research- Van Nghe, 1990).
His unpublished works include a number of books of research and translation. |

TRANSLATOR Tran
Vu Lien Tam, pen name of Michelle Tran, born in Pleiku, Vietnam, in 1981. She came, in 1993, to the
US, where she was educated. She obtained her Bachelor of English in 2006,
Master of Business Administration in 2009. A working writer in Roanoke, VA; also, an editor on the editorial panel
of Trinhnu.net. Her writings have appeared
in many magazines, including VSA, Lua Viet, and Ket Doan.. Her debut “Tam”, a
poetry collection, was published in May 2006. |

Nguyen Phan Thinh
(1943-2007), was born in Ha Nam, started in the literary community with his
poems and translations contributed to several magazines published in Saigon
before 1975. He
is the author of four books of poetry: Hu Ngon (1969), Mo mot sang mai hong
(1975), Lang man doi trang (with other poets, 1989), Tinh ca mua (2002). His
unpublished works include ‘Tho viet tren vach lua’, ‘Suoi o dau non’, ‘Nguoi,
