PHAN NI TAN (ND), born in 1948 in Can Giuoc VN, poet and
musician, educated at
University of Saigon, Faculty of Letters, former officer
in the Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces serving one years’ imprisonment in
re-education camps. He escaped Viet-Nam by sea to Thailand 1979, and has been
living at Downsview in Toronto, Canada. He started composed poem at the age
of 16, and music at 20. In 1968, he participated the “wandering singer”
movement headquartered at Suong Nguyet Anh Street in Saigon, and was an
active member of the wandering singer group in Ba Me Thuoc, lead by Nguyen
Quyet Thang, and a group in Nhatrang. In the overseas, he was vice-chairman
of internal affairs of the Hung Ca Movement in 1995, lead by writer Ha Thuc
Sinh. He traveled to sing in several countries. In the field of literature,
his poems appeared in Van Học, Van, Hop Luu, The Ky 21, Thoi Tap, Khoi Hanh, Song
Van, Hon Viet published in the US, Nang Moi, Song, Lang Van in Canada, Que Me
in France, and Šoc Lap in Germany. His
