a poem by DU TU LE translated by Nhu
Hanh go on cursing the shadow
when seagulls line up mending the blue skies
with their golden bills I understand finally our wounds will one day
be sealed as the graves themselves will smooth down the exultant laughs
of Death and sometimes Death too many maneuver for
a good treat… we too cannot talk again and again
about a corpse as no one can again and again curse a shadow let the women who have not once given
birth know how giving birth is let the children who have neither mother nor father grow up and have faith in the kindness from
others’ hands let those who have never written a
verse know how necessary/ squandering is
regarding illusion/ dream/ and let me/ at the end of my life know how is an embrace full/ filled (your body/ dreams/ sleepy
giveaways/) together with your snoring let them all with fall on me into
my memory. ‰ The Writers Post &
