Want to be and arrant liar __________________________________________ a poem by TAN DA (1889-1939) translated by Song Ho Want to be an arrant liar
Sister Moon, what
melancholy in an autumn night! On earth, I’m now tired
of living again and again. In the Palace is there
someone sitting beside you? Please take and put
me on the branch of banian tree. Having a boyfriend to
chat, should not you worry Together wind and clouds,
our life becomes joyful. And then every year, the
mid-autumn night comes Lean on each other, look
down on the earth laughing. ‰
